May 2, 2012 If you were a flower child, whimsy was probably a celebrated part of your world. The lightly curved body of this fanciful bag is made from a fun earth colored woven tapestry fabric with a playful stylized floral motif. Zippy bands of ivory and rust colored satin ribbon are topped with a texturally rich black braided trim making for eye catching detailing. Graphic black and tan leaf strewn cotton printed fabric makes up the visually surprising borders and full lining of this purse. A delicately bold “oh wow” flower styled pendant is punctuated with a sparkling vintage rhinestone button. April 30, 2012 Every time I look at this bit of other-worldly elegance, I have the same reaction… oh my! This unique bag is the wistful sigh of a fairy tale… actualized. The body of the purse is an exquisitely embroidered panel of translucent tapestry fabric bonded to a piece of thick white cotton, which allows the shimmering nature of the transparent fabric and its shifting tones to be highlighted. Because the lustrous sheen is so evident, and the ivory chain stitch embroidery so delicately lush, the texturally intricate nature of this shoulder bag is at a maximum. Adding to this, is gold satin ribbon and bone colored braided trim which form a lush ring of banding. A pink and ivory woven brocade patterned with trailing flowers and leaves acts as the inviting top border and full lining of the bag. The bags back is made from an elegant tan satin fabric with a ivory embroidered botanical design. 46″ of double strand, knotted satin twist cording is used for the sumptuous shoulder strap. April 27, 2012 What better way to finish the week than with an ultimate?! Today’s bag is a cherry red on hot red conflagration of undulating rhythms. Nine close up views of richly red, prolifically petaled flowers created a patchwork panel that vibrates with intense color and flowing lines. Layered satin ribbons and detail sewing create the panels frame, which is bordered by fire engine red grosgrain ribbon and a two toned wine red braided trim. A bold red and black botanical cotton print creates the top border and full lining, and the bags back is made from a delightful red tapestry fabric accented with woven gold star bursts. A custom filigree styled gold and silver toned button centered with a ruby rhinestone, along with the gold chain loop, featuring a free swinging brass and ruby bead dangle, creates the memorable jewelry like closure. A two toned 46″ rolled grosgrain and satin ribbon shoulder strap completes this unique bags top to bottom radiant presentation. Here’s to intensity!

April 26, 2012 This is an eye catchingly unique, very modern patchwork bag. It is made from a bold gray/green and black leaf patterned batik cotton, graphically layered tan and black satin ribbon framing, rhythmic grayish green braided trim, and a zingy woven lime green top border and full lining. The accents come in the form of lustrous ivory satin cord tassels on the bottom of the bag, and on the end of the silver chain and bead wrap cord – which accompanies a triangular bone and etched silver pendant, that speaks of the contrast between the old and the new, that this bag personifies. April 25, 2012 Do you remember that very distinctive black and white pearl laden bag from last week? Well… there were scraps, and first class scraps, such as those were, demand attention! I spent some time arranging, and rearranging, the highly decorative woven tapestry fabric and came up with this patchwork panel that I just love. If I had to describe it in a short phrase, I would call this one of a kind bag ‘The over-the-top Gilded Persian Rug – gone miniature!’. With intensive detailing, lush accents, and endless all too touchable surfaces, this all purpose shoulder bag is wearable art at its best. Currently, it is hanging on the draped dress mannequin that I use as a backdrop when I am photographing the bags, and I just want it to stay there forever…

April 20, 2012 Occasionally I run into technical difficulties that are frustratingly hard to overcome. Accurately capturing, in a photograph, the full range of ruby reds that dominate this bag qualifies as such a frustration! This unique bag has such a lush array of textural reds offset by subtle touches of olive green and soft gold accents, that both the camera and the editing program, literally went a bit wacky trying to resolve the balance issues! So… this highly decorative bag, loaded with jewel like goodies, will have to be a bit of a mystery on line. In reality, she feels like a red rose on a hot summer day… rich and luxuriant, intricate and fascinating. She is… a sensual delight. Her free swinging baubles flash red fire. April 17, 2012 This… is a happy bag! Everything about it, from the shimmery sky blue and dusty gold brocade to the free swinging brass tipped opulent pearl dangles, is a smile. A cheery, over sized silver and rhinestone flower button sets the mood – fun is the name of the day. Sparkling rhinestones wink at the world, from both the pendant and the pearl dangles. A new method for suspending the dangles (first used on yesterdays bag) has them swiveling freely, and the slightest movement sends the pearls dancing. Two silver leaf charms tip the wrap cords, and sing a sweet clinking tune as they bounce off each other when you walk. April 16, 2012 Since I was a little girl, I have loved making things. I grew up with a father who was an artist and many of my childhood memories feature his paintings. I found the paints and brushes fascinating, and I was four years old when I decided to ‘fix’ one of my dad’s paintings while he was away at work. Soon, I had an easel and paints of my own! My mom furthered my creative bent by providing an array of art and craft projects that empowered me with the joy that comes from making your own treasure. April 14, 2012 Personal adornment is most always statement making. The statements made cannot help but be as diverse as humanity itself. The title of this one of a kind bag says it all for me… the specific statement and stories have to belong to the woman who becomes this bags owner. The fun is in the interpretation, and the challenge is in living up to the mood you choose to present! As Erma Bombeck said “I have a hat. It is graceful and feminine and gives me a certain dignity, as if I were attending a state funeral or something. April 12, 2012 This unique bag is a spring toned delight which merits a second look. First glance suggests a rich and royal peacock feather theme… glance again, and the bag becomes more fins than feathers! The base fabric is a shining, icy water blue satin, which is lushly embroidered with shimmering antique gold thread. The embroidered design is rhythmic and flowing, and is set off by the top border and full lining which is made from a woven tapestry fabric sporting endless miniature horizontal stripes of every shade of river grass. A band of aqua blue and reed green satin ribbon is topped with a swirling blue accented braided trim. A 44″ shoulder strap allows this bag to rest comfortably against your hip and is made from a blue/green watercolor combo of rolled grosgrain and satin ribbon.
